JESC is produced by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). Thus member of broadcasters of the EBU may take part in the contest. Since 2004 Georgian Public Broadcasting (GPB) has been the member of EBU and has an exclusive right to select Georgian participant for JESC.
In 2009 Georgia will participate in JESC for already the fourth time.
